SEASON TICKET CAMPAIGN | 2020/21
Job Role: Concept / Director / Editor
For the 2020/21 season ticket campaign, I formed an idea of telling one fans journey of being a Derby County supporter, following him from being a young boy watching his first game to being an older man and taking his grandchild to the game with him.
I directed the production, giving instructions to the crew about the shots and lighting so that we got the required footage I needed to take to the editing room to create the time morphing effects as the man grew younger. At the same time I was also directing around 10 extras on the day to celebrate and act the pure emotions of being a fan on matchdays.
After the shooting was complete, I got to work editing together the footage, along with creating quite a few different effects in post-production to tell the story right.
This included; adding a match footage reflection in the glasses, adding video and film effects to signify the different eras, and a transition effect.
The latter included rotoscoping out the subjects to be able to cover them in darkness as time passed around them. This was also achieved practically by physically moving the lights on the day.
